Join the Winter 2024 Historical Accountability Student Research Fellows as they explore untold stories in Dartmouth's archives. The fellows will recount their last nine weeks of research and take questions from attendees, inviting the community into dialogue about equity and inclusion in Dartmouth's past and present. Read their descriptions below:

Spencer Mancuso '25

This presentation will focus on the social reformation that occurred on campus following co-education in 1972. I’m specifically examining administration and student response to an increased concern about alcohol abuse and social alternatives to Greek houses on campus. Ultimately, I hope to understand how Dartmouth’s drinking mythology and culture affected student experience and shaped the Greek system that survives today.

Thomas Corrado '25

This presentation focuses on the history of food inclusivity and food injustice at Dartmouth College. I am exploring the progress Dartmouth has made toward establishing food equality and accessibility for all wants, needs, and restrictions. Furthermore, this research project aims to determine future improvements to make dining and food at Dartmouth increasingly inclusive.

Attend the presentations in person at The LINK (Berry 180 suite) or online via Zoom.

The Historical Accountability Student Research Program at the Dartmouth Library offers research opportunities for Dartmouth undergraduates to explore primary sources in our collections related to issues of diversity and inclusion in Dartmouth history.
