Kenneth E. Shewmaker

Shewmaker taught history at Dartmouth from 1967 to 2005. He was awarded Dartmouth College's Distinguished Teaching Award in 1986, 1996, and 2004 more than any other faculty member. Professor Shewmaker lectured and wrote extensively on Daniel Webster for over thrity years, and served as editor of Daniel Webster,"The Completest Man."  Read a full obituary here.
